TEN REASONS CHRISTIANS OPPOSE GAMBLING

  1. Gambling is covetousness (violates the 10th Commandment).
  2. Gambling is a form of greed (getting something you’ve not earned & that’s not a gift).
  3. Gambling is selfish.
  4. Gambling exploits human weakness (“Get Rich Quick” scheme).
  5. Gambling corrupts by destroying or weakening the work ethic.
  6. Gambling violates “Love thy neighbor as thyself.”
  7. Gambling destroys families (leaves children in want).
  8. Gambling is addictive.
  9. Gambling violates every principle of stewardship (God has provided the resources we have).
  10. Gambling is built on a lie—an illusion—a “Seductive Fantasy.”
