My Old Friend — Luke 14:16–23
In this message, Pastor Bill Monroe revisits a faithful friend of the Gospel: the public invitation. From the Great Supper in Luke 14 to the final “Come” of Revelation 22:17, Scripture shows that preaching is meant to call for a response. Pastor walks through biblical invitations—Moses (Ex. 32:26), Joshua (Josh. 24:15), Elijah (1 Kings 18:21), our Lord Jesus (Matt. 4:19; 11:28), Peter at Pentecost (Acts 2:14, 40–41)—and explains why our services move from praise, to proclamation, to a reverent, Spirit-led invitation.
If God spoke to your heart about salvation, repentance, or interceding for someone you love, respond while your heart is tender (2 Cor. 5:11; Mark 8:36; Joel 3:14). Whosoever will may come.
